Village Receives Award for Urban Mural
Village Real Estate recently competed in a contest run by the mayor’s office with other local business organizations called ‘Celebrate Nashville'. Village entered the contest, designed to be a neighborhood beautification competition, by sponsoring a mural wall project located on 8th Avenue – across from Werthan Lofts - in Germantown.
Two local artists from Number Walls, Jennifer Baggs and Mike Luckett, designed the paint by number mural and lead the community project where neighborhood children and Village volunteers worked in concert to complete the colorful cityscape design.
Wal-Mart donated the prize money. 1st place took home a whopping $10,000, there were two 2nd place awards given at $5,000 each and three 3rd place prizes were awarded at $2,000 each. Village proudly accepted one of the 3rd place prizes and then made a generous donation to the Friendship Community Outreach Center in Germantown.
